Players often travel to NJ for a training block.
While you’re here, you can work with Johnny, Alexa, or both. A typical visit involves 6 coaching hours, spread over 2-3 days, but we can schedule longer training blocks as well.

6-Hour Lesson Block
Price: $1000
Work with Johnny and/or Alexa for six total hours of 1-on-1 coaching. Most common implementations.

A great format we offer is back-to-back single hours with both of us. A 2-hour session which constitutes an hour with me, then an hour with Alexa, or vice versa. This is ideal for longer stays especially, because we both see you every day, and we chat about your tennis in the meantime.

In the area for a week or longer? Reach out and we can quote you a block price for more comprehensive training.
Scheduling
Currently, Fault Tolerant Tennis does not have an indoor location, so we teach on outdoor courts around New Jersey. Karen Sullivan is our scheduling coordinator. She will knit your visit in among our local clients, and let you know when and where in NJ our sessions will be. Let her know what your schedule looks like. She can help with travel and lodging suggestions, too.
Weather
When it rains, we can rent courts from a few local clubs. These tend to be available at off hours (after 7 pm weekends, for example), and we need to charge an additional $80/hour.
Once we’re within ~10 days of your arrival date, we’ll have a rough idea of the forecast. If it’s looking like a total washout, we will reserve indoor court space at $80/hour and bill you accordingly, communicating as we go. If it looks on the edge weather wise, we’ll be in touch, and make a decision as we get closer to date.
Let us know how flexible your schedule is while you’ll be here. We have three primary options for handling weather:
- switching three 2-hour sessions to two 3-hour sessions, and skipping one day
- moving a session to different, dryer time of day
- renting indoor courts
Not everyone’s schedule is flexible. Occasionally, we may just be rained out, in which case we will refund at a rate of $150/hour.
If You’re Flying In
Out-of-state clients are my top priority for indoor court space. We will be able to get your sessions in as long as you can be flexible about hours. For example, we may need to reschedule a Saturday afternoon session for 7-9 pm, when a club has space.
If You’re Driving In
If the forecast is a total washout, it’s usually best to reschedule. Unlike flights, hotels tend to be refundable a week out. If you still want to get out here, though, we can book indoor courts and still make it happen.
